LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
CDSA, SOON TO BE KNOWN AS
Football Cairns, is looking to the future with regards to the development of
Endeavour Park. After discussions with all relevant people, including FNQ Zone
who gave us their full support, we want to build a top class facility that we
can all be proud of and be will be used for all top level games.
We asked Steve Gleeson, who is
an Archetect and involved in football, to put together a concept drawing of what
we propose, which is an operational complex & grandstand. What he has come
up with is a very smart looking design but as I said, it is only a concept
drawing so things need to be fine tuned as to its final design.

The building will include
offices for ALL football administration, including FNQ Zone, RDO & us. Along
with these offices on the top floor there will be toilets, a lecture /training /
function room, these will lead on to an area for corporate boxes and then on to
the grandstand. This will be built on top of the existing building (if possible)
which will refurbished also to become, 4 change rooms, a referees room, a
disabled toilet, storage rooms and a merchandise store.
Due to the size and cost of
this project being far beyond the abilities of this volunteer committee, we are
asking for the support from those in the football community who have the
experience or ability to see this project move forward and make Endeavour Park
the home of Football in FNQ. We will need help with grant submissions, sourcing
funding and planning and whole host of other things, not forgetting the support
of our local politicians and council.
We want to start with upgrading the field
to a top class level but this will need funds as usual, if anyone is interested
in sponsoring an advertising sign on the fence around field 1, can you please

ball rolling with two signs.
